Proms for Homeschoolers

Page is being updated for Spring 2009! Send your information in as soon as possible! I will format as close as possible to how you send it, within the limits of this format. Each prom announcement must have at least one way of making online contact with the organizers... website url or email address.

By Ann Zeise

Several states are having state-wide proms for homeschoolers this year. Here are their announcements. If I don't have your prom here, send me an email with content similar to those entries below. It is free to promote your homeschool prom here. It is important to sign up early as the sponsors have lots of desposits to make. Unlike school proms, you do not have to have a date to have fun at a homeschool prom, just dress up and go! Celebrate the transition to the next stage of your life!

Learn How to Tie a Tie
Assuming no previous knowledge on your part, I will be using colored and easy-to-follow diagrams as well as simple step-by-step instructions to help you on your way to become a real master at tying ties in no time. That way, learning how to tie a tie will be fun and about as easy as coloring by numbers!

California

IT'S A MORP! (prom spelled backwards)
Regional dance in Anaheim
Saturday, May 30, 2009, from 7:30 to 10:30 pm.
For Homeschooled Teens & their guests, ages 12 to 19 (recent grads okay).
No dates required.

This dance will be at the beautiful new
Downtown Anaheim Community Center
250 E. Center Street, near the 57, 91, and I-5 freeways.

Featuring everybody's favorite DJ, Adam Paz!
(He was Captain Jack at the Costume Party in Murrieta last Oct., and The Joker at the Corona party last Aug.)

Be as anti-prom as you want! Wear tacky old thrift store prom-wear, or pajamas and a robe, or miss-matched stripes, or wear your clothes backwards, or inside-out! Whatever you choose! Now is your chance to look as tacky and ridiculous as possible!

Modesty -- in dress, dancing, language, and behavior -- is required. Dance is fully chaperoned. DJ plays radio-clean music. This is a lock-down dance; parents or other responsible adults must sign-in teens, and teens cannot leave without their parent or responsible adult.

Special early bird price, if payment is received by Feb. 28, is $12.50. For payments received from March 1 to May 25, the price is $13.50. Deadline for payment is May 25. After that, if there is any space left, it will be $15 at the door.
