Pals Andrew and Bryan and I became separated from the others and found ourselves transformed near the haunted school house.

Can you see the skeleton inside Bryan here? The schoolhouse was still decorated in Halloween motif, making Bryan come to the conclusion that the town had been abandoned shortly thereafter, probably to avoid one more winter of killing snows.

The homeschoolers, peeking in the classroom window, were reminded how lucky they were to be wandering around the ghost town on a lovely October weekday.

Andrew and Bryan outside the old school, which was built in 1879. Belle Moore, wife of Ben Butler, was Bodie's first school teacher.
