Carol
Narigon's Unschooling Curriculum
In case an unschooler is required to submit a curriculum, here
is one Carol wrote, and has generously offered as a model for
other families in need.
How
Our Daughters Helped Plan Their Education
We trusted out daughters' judgement. They threw out all color-inside-the-lines
material very early in their education. "We don't need that.
We draw and color our own pictures." Indeed, they did, creatively.
All repetitive exercises and most reviews of material already
learned followed color-inside-the-lines pictures into the stove.

I
Am An Unschooled Adult
By Susanna Wesley, HEM. I began unschooling the day I quit my
fourth year in college.
An Interview with Kate Fridkis
Writer and grown unschooler Kate Fridkis recently received her Master's degree from Columbia, works as a cantor at a synagogue, writes for The Huffington Post, and blogs at Skipping School and Eat the Damn Cake about body image, unschooling, and being a young woman in the city. She's also writing a book about her unschooling experience. By Helen Hegener, HEM M/J 2011.
Interview with Luz Shosie and Ned Vare
Luz Shosie and Ned Vare are longtime unschool activists. By Mary Nix, HEM J/A 2008.
Learning in Freedom
A blog all about the learning adventures (and mishaps) of the Allen family. My four children are unschooled, following their interests and passions every day and living the lives of their choosing.
Life Provides Our Curriculum
We are what is known as "unstructured" homeschoolers.
We trust in our son's inner drive and curiosity to compel him
to learn what he needs to know. By Gail Nagasako.
One
of Those Days
It is not quite 9 AM, but I can tell already that it is One of
Those Days. You all know exactly what I mean - a day when the
kids bicker, you feel out of sorts, and no amount of Calgon is
going to take you away. - Deb Baker. [HEM]
Our Joyful Life
I love books. Love the feel of them, smell of them, love the look of them.. and shelves full of books... sigh.. don't get me started .. libraries.. bookstores.. I'm not quite sure what the draw is.. maybe it's text or the words.
Reflections on the Unschooling Life
Mary Griffith on unschooling, homeschooling, and lifelong learning.
Unchores
Unchoring does not mean chaos reigns and we are wading though
dust balls and dirty tissues a foot thick. By Karen Kirkwood,
HEM 5/6 03.
An Unschooling Life
We are a multiracial family of five consisting of myself (Joanne), my husband Billy, my son Cimion and my daughters Shawna and Jacqueline. We also have two dogs (Mini and TJ) and an iguana named Buddie. My husband and I are native New Yorkers from Brooklyn and we moved to Florida in 2002, where we adopted our three children.
Unschooling Ruminations
Anyway, before I go off on another anti-homework rant (those are so easily provoked these days), I just wanted to say, go to the library. Support it. Find out when the story times are. Volunteer with your kids. Buy some super cheap books. Just go.
Unschooling Teens
I am a 17-year-old unschooler. I was accepted into my top-choice college and was awarded 2/3 tuition scholarship. I have had many successes in local theatre. My local community has asked me to write about how I impressed colleges and navigated the admissions process. So I am working on a Squidoo page (Squidoo is a site where users create a singular page on a topic) about unschooling teens. By Andi Enns.
