Washington Homeschool Laws Explained

Laws

Washington Education Code For Homeschooling
AN A TO Z RESOURCE
Not intended as legal advice. Laws for your information only. Revised code available.

Home-Based Education
Washington state law recognizes the desire of some parents to seek a home-based education for their children. OSPI offers technical assistance to school districts that are working with parents seeking to exercise this educational right.

Obeying the Law, Testing, & "Qualifying" to Homeschool
This article is pretty long for a web page, but I have provided it for the serious-of-heart who is interested in some in-depth consideration of this very vital topic. By Barbara Edtl Shelton.

Statement of Unity Regarding the Washington Home-Based Instruction Law and Public School Alternative Learning Experience Programs
Of concern to statewide independent homeschool organizations is the blurred distinction between Home-Based Instruction (homeschoolers) and participation in a PSALEP government-defined school. Additionally, troubling aspects involve the marketing of PSALEP's to already-declared homeschoolers and the use of the Declaration of Intent to Provide Home Based Instruction Form as a marketing tool to solicit enrollment.

Washington State's Homeschool Law
Presented and explained by Barb Shelton. What I present here is a basic overview of the homeschool law in Washington state, not a comprehensive, verbatim duplicate of it. But this should suffice for the needs of the general public.
