This list is for posting any and all EVENTS for, about or of interest to homeschoolers in the Atlanta area including but not limited to: field trips, classes, concerts, plays, parties, meetings, lectures, discussion groups, play dates and homeschool group curriculum/used book sales, etc.

Georgia On The Cheap
A field trip group for homeschooling families in Georgia. We welcome homeschoolers from all over the state, though we will be concentrating on the area around Atlanta and north.

Homeschool Excursions
Homeschool Excursions is working to find the best way to offer quality activities at affordable prices. A successful membership program will cover our overhead expenses so we can offer events at reduced rates.

Heritage

Breman Museum
Through its exhibitions and programs, The Breman explores the universal themes of respect for difference, responsible citizenship, human dignity, and community building through the lens of the Jewish experience. History

Coastal Heritage Society
We serve more than 150,000 people annually at our three historic sites: Old Fort Jackson National Historic Landmark, the Savannah History Museum, and the Roundhouse Railroad Museum.

Jekyll Island NEW
Explore the historic district while enjoying this vacation destination. They offer student-centered tours for the young.

Natural History

Atlanta Botanical Garden
The Children's Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden combines plant education and interactive entertainment. 1345 Piedmont Ave. NE Atlanta, GA 30309, (404) 876-5859.

Chestatee Wildlife Preserve
The Preserve is located 45 minutes north of Atlanta, GA on Old Dahlonega Highway (SR 115) in Dahlonega, and sits on over 20 acres of gently rolling farmland. Over 100 animals, with many different species, live at CWP.

Fernbank Science Center
Science Night Out, an evening packed with hands-on activities for kids. 156 Heaton Park Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30307. Call 678-874-7102. Free parking available.

Oatland Island Wildlife Center of Savannah
Starting in October, a new Home School program series aimed at providing supplemental educational experiences for homeschooled students, begins at Oatland Island. Less than 5 miles from Savannah's historic district off of Islands Expressway (912) 898-3980.

Zoo Atlanta
The HomeSchool Academy is a unique program where students explore animal and science concepts in a fun, interactive environment. 800 Cherokee Avenue, SE, Atlanta, GA 30315, (404) 624-WILD.

Rural Life

The Rock Ranch
Owned by Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy and dedicated to wholesome education and entertainment and promoting healthy family values and relationships. Close enough for a day trip from Atlanta, Macon, or Columbus. (706) 647-6374.

Science Museums

The Museum of Arts & Sciences
