Saskatchewan Field Trips

Batoche National Historic Site of Canada
Opened May 15, 2011. Batoche displays the remains of the village of Batoche on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. It was the last battlefield in the Northwest Rebellion of 1885. Related locations of historical nature also found on this site.

Buffalo Pound Provincial Park
Pays tribute to its past use as a hunting grounds by maintaining a herd of plains bison in a hillside paddock. But today, the focus of this park 20 minutes northeast of Moose Jaw is memorable getaways for fun-seekers and nature lovers alike.

Children's Discovery Museum
The Muddy Paws Animal Clinic is a vet clinic where children learn about taking care of animals. The North Woods Campsite a replica of a northern Saskatchewan campsite. The Performance Arts Stage is an exhibit dedicated to theatre and music. In the arts and crafts room, children can use any of the materials available to create something unique. Duck Lake Regional Interpretive Centre
experience life from days gone by - from the every day struggles of the Pioneers, to the devastating impact that the near extinction of the buffalo had on the First Nations, and to the harsh aftermath of the North West Resistance for the Métis.

Fort Carlton Provincial Park
This is the original site of a Hudson's Bay Company fur-trading post that operated between 1810 and 1885. Today, you will see a reconstructed palisade, fur and provisions store, trade store, clerk's quarters, and tepee encampment; each of these appears much like they would have in the late 1800s.

Moose Jaw
Take the Moose Jaw Trolley in the daytime to get a tour of historic buildings, and at night to get a ghostly tour. Our Visitor Centre is the first point of contact for many visitors and potential visitors to the city.

Royal Saskatchewan Museum
What's on for kids and families. Located in Wascana Park at the corner of College Avenue and Albert Street in Regina, Sask.

Saskatchewan Railway Museum
Guided and self-guided tours of the Museum are available. Tours may be available in the off-hours as well, depending on volunteers. Call us for hours of operation and other details (306)382-9855. The Museum is located on the Pike Lake Highway just west of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Science Centre, Inc.

Saskatchewan Western Development Museum
The Museum shares the province's unique sense of place with all people for their understanding and enjoyment Ð recognizing that the legacy of the past is the foundation for a sustainable future. Several branch locations and programs.

St. Victor Petroglyphs Provincial Park
No one knows exactly who carved them, why they were carved or even when they were carved. All we can be certain of is that they provide clues to the people who lived on Saskatchewan's plains hundreds of years ago at a time predating any of our written records. (306) 642-4016. Admission to the site is free. Get map on site.
