Drama
These plays, skits, dramatic readings
and pagents are arranged according to difficulty. The activities
are for confidence building, followed by skits that require
little or no rehearsal. Readings take fewer people and
some rehearsal, while plays require lots of people and
lots of rehearsal. Near the end of this page, you'll find a few
plays for advanced actors or for older teens because of
the nature of the topic of the scripts. There is a section for
Christmas plays and one site with a lot of Christian scripts.
At the very end you'll find help with staging and costumes.

Advice for Homeschoolers
Directing a Homeschool Play
Before we began rehearsals, the moms asked whether I'd want help. Not to diss parents or anything, but homeschool moms tend to take control, and because I'm "rebellious," I decided I didn't need or want any help. I could do this on my own. The kids would take my direction. I knew what I was doing, and we could pull together everything we needed on our own. By Nathan Colpitts, HEM N/D 07.
Hard Choices: Casting your play
When you sit down to start making the tough decisions, take a list of characters, go through the audition sheets, and write each actorçs name down beside every key role you think they could play. The idea here is to get a list of potential actors who could tackle each role. In doing so, you should be able to give yourself two or three options for every key role. John Cosper, Righteous Insanity.
The Play's the Thing
The goal of Stagelight is to help the kids carry their success into other areas of their lives, to help them become comfortable in their own skin. When that goal is reached, the play is most certainly the thing. By Sandra S. Gaffigan, HEM J/F 2010.

I am commanded to explain to you its full meaning. For it is
not one prayer, but two -- one spoken, the other not. Listen
now to the silent prayer.
