We're a long-established, independent school that has recently

Options in British Columbia
We offer information about home-based, public or independent
school enrollment options as a public service and to help clarify
the difference between home-based learning options currently
available in BC.
Distance
Education and Online Learning
Distance education is an alternative to classroom-based instruction
for kindergarten to grade 12 students. It can be delivered using
paper-based print material as in a traditional correspondence
course and/or electronic delivery.
Distributed
Learning and Homeschooling
Students enrolled in a public or independent school distributed
learning program and children who are registered as homeschooled
by their parents have different legal definitions, rights and
responsibilities under the School Act or Independent
School Act.
Foundation
Skills Assessment
This is a letter received from the Ministry of Education on the
new Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA). It is not a required
test for home educated learners; we still have freedom in the
area of testing.

Statistics 
Numbers of registered home-schooled students since the 1989/90
school year to the present, including grants issued to registering
schools.

are made. Support group meeting time and dates are posted for

A Homelearners support group centred in Surrey, British Columbia.
We currently have members located in Surrey, White Rock, Delta,
Langley, Abbotsford, and New Westminster.
Ridge Meadows Home Learners Group
Our members are diversified in beliefs, experiences and backgrounds. The group is open to all homeschoolers to join us in the community of homelearning.
PRINCE GEORGE
Prince George Home Educators' Association
The site is geared for Prince George and area home educators,
but it may be of some use to those beyond our local geography
as well. We're hoping that it will be used as a reference
tool for those new to home education and also to those that are
more experienced.
VANCOUVER AREA
Christian Home Educators Association of Richmond
A Christian homeschool co-operative that provides learning experiences for the children through parent-participation.
North Shore Home Learners Group
The families in our homeschool group come from all over the North
Shore, as well as Burnaby and Vancouver. The NSHLG is run by
volunteers -- parents with ideas or those who just like to get
involved.
VANCOUVER ISLAND
District 69 email list
You can "meet" other parents, often homeschoolers,
who are very involved with their kids' education. This is a local
list for the Parksville Qualicum (District 69) area of Vancouver
Island (and neighbouring communities).
Nanaimo Community Home Learners

A loosely formed membership of home learning families who want

Learners Unlimited
A group of parents and children living in and around Kelowna,
British Columbia, Canada. We all "homeschool" whether
it's "unschooling" or "school at home" or
