prefer not to homeschool independently, but rather through an
institution operated either through the state or as an independent
organization. This is a list of homeschool organizations with
state charters, not all California charter schools.

Choice 2000
Online accredited charter school for grades 7-12. Requires a
Windows machine, so Mac users will need to be on newer Intel-inside

Horizon Charter School
Formerly Horizon Instructional Systems. A K-12 charter school,
it offers a wide variety of instructional options to its students
and parents, ranging from distance learning, to site based instruction,
to Home Schooling.
Alameda County
FAME Public Charter School
Any student residing in Alameda county or the six contiguous counties (Contra Costa, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Santa Clara, San Mateo and San Francisco) surrounding it may enroll in our program.
Connecting Waters
Charter School
Modesto Learning Center. Alameda, Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced,
San Joaquin, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne.
Hickman
Charter School
A "university model" which blends homeschooling with
on-site classes and online programs. Hickman is located in Stanislaus
County east of Modesto. Serves Stanislaus, Tuolumne & Alameda
counties.
Mount Parnassus Charter Academy
Newly proposed charter school for homeschoolers. Based in Pleasanton, it would also serve families in contiguous counties. If approved, the school will operate sites in Pleasanton and Berkeley beginning in July and serve 150 students during the 2011-2012 school year. By the 2012-2013 school year, the group hopes to open a third learning center in Fremont and serve 250 students through the three centers.

HomeTech Charter School
It is expected that the majority of applicants will live within
the Paradise Unified School District, however application is
open to any student living in Butte County or a county adjacent
to Butte County.
South Sutter Charter School
An independent study charter school that is a separate school
from the district's longstanding Marcum Illinois Elementary School.
